Let's Get REAL

My debut novel, THE BLACK WALNUT TREE, is set in the late '70s and early '80s in the Lowcountry of South Carolina. I have that era down because I lived it and it was my absolute favorite! But when I wasn't sure if the car my antagonist drives was even off the production line, or a certain brand of whiskey was already in the hands of consumers, I needed a little help. It's a work of fiction, but why set it in the '70s if I can't keep you there?

I loved that I never had to leave my desk for this in-depth research and every question was answered. Yes, I'm talking about AI. It's a fascinating tool, but I also saw the line and never crossed it.

All 84,000+ words are mine. My memories, my imagination, my truths. And I couldn't have been more thrilled when my editor said the same thing. She personally edits her manuscripts because she has the knowledge and expertise to do so. AI might too, but here's the difference. You won't get to know AI, but you'll get to know me, the author. A REAL person in a REAL world.
